NeoMagic Corporation delivers semiconductor chips and software that enable new multimedia features for handheld devices. These solutions offer low power consumption, small form-factor and high performance processing. The Company demonstrated one of the first solutions used for H.264 video decoding in a mobile digital TV phone, and is developing and delivering solutions for audio/video processing of the dominant mobile digital TV standards, including ISDB-T, T-DMB and DVB-H. For its complete system solution, NeoMagic delivers a suite of middleware and sample applications for imaging, video and audio functionality, and provides multiple operating system ports with customized drivers for the MiMagic product family. NeoMagic has a strong patent portfolio that covers NeoMagic's proprietary array processing and other technology.

At the heart of NeoMagic’s multimedia processors is a unique multimedia engine that uses a parallel computing architecture called the Associative Processing Array (APA). The APA multimedia engine operates on data in parallel and is able to process more information per clock cycle compared to sequential approaches. With its ability to handle large amounts of data simultaneously, the APA platform is able to efficiently process multimedia data such as images, audio, video and graphics, using very low power consumption.

The APA is essentially a memory structure that both processes and stores data. This results in dramatic reduction in the amount of data movement required for multimedia processing. Additionally, the APA performs more calculations in fewer clock cycles than traditional architectures. The combination of reduced data movement and the reduced clock rates results in very efficient processing of multimedia.

Additionally, the APA architecture is very easily scalable to address the growing multimedia performance requirements of the handheld market.

The APA architecture is ideally suited for high performance multimedia processing at very low power.
Headquartered in the heart of the Silicon Valley, NeoMagic maintains development offices in Santa Clara, California; Netanya, Israel and in Noida, India.
